Chicken Stock for the Soul

Who doesn't love the taste of homemade chicken broth? Nourishing and multi-purpose, it's another of our kitchen staples. But who has the time to cook stock for hours on end? Well, actually, we do.

We simmer fresh chicken and vegetables for more than five hours to make our chicken stock. Then, we cool it and skim off most of the fat for a lower-fat, lower-salt broth bursting with homemade flavor. Keep a container of this stock on hand all year round. You'll be hard-pressed to find a recipe that it doesn't enhance.

Use it for soups and sauces, but also:

  • Add it to mashed potatoes in place of dairy
  • Make rice or a creamy risotto
  • Braise chicken or fish
  • Cook fresh or dried pasta
  • Sip it hot from a mug when you're under the weather

Most of all, enjoy!
